Senior Software Engineer – Java / AWS (Contract)
Location: Scottsdale, AZ (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract
A large U.S.-based financial technology organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build and support cloud-based backend services used by millions of consumers and businesses nationwide. This role focuses on Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and AWS within a distributed, high-availability environment.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced backend engineer who enjoys owning features from design through production. The team works on systems where reliability, performance, and security are critical, and contractors are treated as core contributors who collaborate closely with engineering, QA, and product teams. Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong Java development experience
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and RESTful APIs
  • Experience working in AWS or other cloud environments
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
  • Experience with source control and code review practices
  • Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments
