• Conduct comprehensive initial assessments and ongoing evaluations to identify the severity and recurrence of mood disorder symptoms in clients.
• Collaborate with clients to co-create personalized treatment plans that reflect their unique needs, aspirations, and therapeutic goals.
• Utilize evidence-based treatment methodologies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) tailored to address mood disorders like depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety.
• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, outlining treatment options and implementing effective self-care strategies.
• Monitor client progress throughout therapy, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing evaluations and feedback.
• Engage actively with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care, discussing treatment updates and coordinating interdisciplinary approaches.
• Remain current with research advancements in the field of mental health and incorporate innovative treatment approaches into practice.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client interactions, assessments, and care plans in compliance with professional guidelines and legal standards.
• Participate in regular supervision sessions, professional development workshops, and team meetings to enhance clinical skills and stay updated with best practices.
• Advocate for clients within the community to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues and promote accessibility to mental health resources.

The primary focus of this role is to support individuals facing challenges related to mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. You will be working with a diverse clientele, including adults and adolescents, who seek empathetic understanding and effective treatment pathways to improve their mental health outcomes.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based therapeutic techniques specifically for treating mood disorders.
• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and the capability to work closely with psychiatrists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Proven ability to achieve positive treatment outcomes for clients experiencing mood-related challenges.
• Exceptional communication skills, facilitating the establishment of rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.

• Previous experience in a clinical setting specifically targeting mood disorders.
• Familiarity with teletherapy tools and methodologies to support remote patient interactions.
• Participation in accreditation or continuing education relevant to clinical practices in mental health.
