This role specifically targets the elderly population, particularly those grappling with addiction, emotional stressors, and significant life changes. Counselors will work with seniors facing a variety of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, grief, and cognitive decline, making it essential to employ age-appropriate therapeutic techniques and interventions.

• A Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• Minimum of 4 years of recent experience providing geriatric counseling and mental health support.
• Specialization or additional training in geriatric mental health practices and issues related to aging.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with evidence-based interventions that promote mental health and emotional well-being among older adults.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect and build rapport with elderly clients.
• Empathy and cultural competence to appropriately support a diverse range of older adults from various backgrounds.

• Knowledge of ethical and legal standards governing geriatric mental health counseling.

• Experience in telehealth counseling and familiarity with virtual care delivery methods.

• Track record of successfully managing complex cases requiring interdisciplinary collaboration and integrated care.
