Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Ecommerce Architect to lead the design and evolution of our next-generation digital commerce platform supporting both B2B and B2C experiences across Web, Mobile, and API-driven ecosystems.

This role requires a forward-thinking architect who can combine modern commerce architecture (headless/composable) with an AI-first mindset, leveraging emerging technologies such as Generative AI, Agentic workflows, and real-time personalization to drive business outcomes.

Responsibilities

·       Define and drive end-to-end architecture for scalable, high-performance eCommerce platforms.

·       Design composable / headless commerce architectures leveraging API-first and microservices principles.

·       Translate business requirements into scalable, extensible technical blueprints.

·       Establish domain-driven design and bounded contexts across commerce capabilities (catalog, pricing, checkout, fulfillment, etc.).

AI & Innovation Leadership

•     Define and implement AI-driven capabilities such as:

      Product recommendations & personalization

      Intelligent search & discovery

      Conversational commerce (chat/voice agents)

      Agentic workflows (AI-driven automation across systems)

•     Embed GenAI into SDLC (code generation, test automation, documentation, debugging).

•     Partner with data teams to enable real-time decisioning using behavioral and transactional data.

•     Evaluate and integrate AI platforms (Azure OpenAI, vector databases, LLM orchestration frameworks).

Integration & Ecosystem

•     Architect integrations with ERP (Agility / similar), PIM (InRiver or equivalent), CMS (Contentful or headless CMS), Search (Klevu or equivalent), Payment gateways & fraud systems, and Fulfillment & logistics systems.

•     Design event-driven architectures using streaming or messaging platforms.

•     Enable API-first platform strategy to support internal and external consumers.

Performance, Scalability & Reliability

•     Design systems optimized for high traffic and peak season readiness, low latency and strong Core Web Vitals, and high availability and fault tolerance.

•     Establish caching, CDN, and edge delivery strategies.

•     Define observability strategy (monitoring, logging, tracing).

Cloud & DevOps

•     Lead architecture on Azure cloud ecosystem including Azure App Services, Functions, Storage, CDN, and Cosmos DB.

•     Define CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps best practices.

•     Ensure secure, compliant, and scalable cloud-native deployments.

•     Strong experience in headless / composable commerce architectures, API-first and microservices design.

•     Expertise in modern web technologies: React, Next.js, Node.js (or equivalent frameworks).

•     Strong experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, and event-driven systems.

•     Deep understanding of eCommerce domains: catalog, pricing, promotions, checkout, order management, and fulfillment.

•     Experience with cloud-native architecture (Azure preferred, AWS acceptable).

•     Strong understanding of performance optimization, SEO, and Core Web Vitals.

•     Knowledge of security best practices and compliance.

•     Proven ability to design high-scale, distributed systems.

•     Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

AI & Data Requirements (Mandatory)

•     Hands-on or applied experience with Generative AI (LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures).

•     Experience with AI-powered personalization or recommendation systems.

•     Experience integrating AI into customer experiences and internal workflows or SDLC.

•     Understanding of vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search.
