The Expert Software Engineer is a highly skilled technical contributor responsible for designing, developing, and delivering advanced, scalable, and secure software solutions. This role leverages deep expertise in software engineering to solve complex problems, optimize system performance, and ensure the highest standards of code quality. The Expert Software Engineer collaborates with engineering teams and stakeholders, mentors peers, and drives innovation through continuous learning and application of best practices.
Job Duties
  • Design complex, scalable systems; review code; maintain technical documentation and diagrams ensuring best practices.
  • Resolve challenging issues; optimize performance and reliability; lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Build cloud-native solutions; support CI/CD, automation, containerization; collaborate on infrastructure provisioning and monitoring.
  • Apply security best practices; mitigate risks; ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Partner with stakeholders to deliver solutions; manage vendor integrations and technical evaluations.
  • Mentor engineers; share expertise; foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning culture.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or
  • High School Diploma/GED and 10 years preferred work experience.
  • 7 years in software development, including experience with distributed systems and cloud platforms.
  • Expert proficiency in programming languages and API development (Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript; REST/gRPC) with strong understanding of architectural patterns and system design.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Expertise in databases (SQL and NoSQL) and advanced data management practices.
  • Deep knowledge of security principles, authentication, authorization, and compliance best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and logging (ELK Stack, Prometheus, Splunk).
  • Strong collaboration, communication, advanced analytical problem-solving skills, and ability to mentor and support engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 10 years with a track record of solving complex technical challenges and mentoring engineers.

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
