Familiarity with development tools like Eclipse or IntelliJ, frameworks such as Spring or Hibernate, and experience with version control systems like Git are typically required. In this role, the developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications. Being a W2 employee means the company handles payroll taxes, provides benefits, and withholds income taxes, offering more job security and potential benefits compared to independent contracting.
