Senior Full Stack Java Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Java Developer to support the design, development, modernization, and deployment of secure enterprise applications in a mission-focused environment. This role is ideal for a developer with strong experience across Java-based backend development, modern front-end frameworks, cloud infrastructure, and DevSecOps best practices.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience building scalable microservices, developing intuitive user interfaces, integrating secure APIs, and supporting CI/CD pipelines in highly regulated federal or defense environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.

Build and enhance responsive front-end applications using React and/or Angular.

Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and backend services supporting mission-critical workflows.

Implement and maintain microservices architectures for performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Deploy and manage applications in AWS cloud environments using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and EKS.

Support containerized deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift.

Build and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Maven, and SonarQube.

Apply DevSecOps and secure coding principles, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and code scanning.

Perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using tools such as JUnit, Mockito, Cypress, Selenium, and SoapUI.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, architects, QA, and security teams in an Agile/Scrum/SAFe environment.

Produce technical documentation, system diagrams, API documentation, and design artifacts.

Optimize application performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend improvements to architecture and code quality.

Ensure compliance with accessibility, security, and government standards such as Section 508, FedRAMP, and DoD-aligned practices.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.

7+ years of software development experience in enterprise environments.

Strong hands-on experience with:

Java 17Spring Boot

Spring MVC

Hibernate / JPA

ReactJS and/or Angular

Experience developing REST and/or GraphQL services.

Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-based application deployment.

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in containerized environments.

Knowledge of CI/CD automation and code quality tooling.

Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, object-oriented design, and application security.

Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.

Experience in Agile software delivery environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting federal, defense, intelligence, or other highly regulated environments.

Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, or infrastructure automation tools.

Experience with RBAC, OAuth2/JWT, and secure identity/access controls.

Familiarity with UML, wireframing, and technical design documentation.

Experience with performance and monitoring tools such as AppDynamics or JProfiler.

Prior exposure to DoD DevSecOps, ATO, STIG, or related compliance frameworks.

Relevant certifications such as:

AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

Oracle Java Certification

CompTIA SecurityTechnical Environment

Position Details:

The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position’s responsibilities; the candidate’s experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
