Job Title: Containerization SME / Cloud Engineer Location-Type: Mannassas, VA Start Date: September 2026 Duration: 6 month C2H Compensation Range: $110-$120/hr W2 Benefits: Eligible for Health, Dental, Vision, and 401K Visa Sponsorship: Not eligible for visa sponsorship Clearance: Must have an ACTIVE Secret Clearance Job Description: This role supports the client as a Container and Kubernetes Subject Matter Expert, responsible for packaging, installing, and deploying containerized capabilities to mission-critical systems. Job Summary Own the containerization deployment strategy and evaluate container deployment tools and technologies to identify best approaches. Build and prototype deployment solutions with the long-term goal of creating repeatable workflows and defined best practices for production programs. Deploy workloads, manage environments, and troubleshoot deployments within Kubernetes clusters. Package and deploy containerized legacy and microservices applications using tools such as Helm, Docker, Podman, and K3s. Integrate containerized components into existing Kubernetes orchestration environments. Script and automate tasks using Bash and/or Python to support deployment and operational workflows. Collaborate within a team environment as a subject matter expert, clearly communicating individual contributions and driving technical decisions. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with 10 years of related experience, or equivalent education and professional experience. Hands-on expertise deploying workloads, managing environments, and troubleshooting containerized applications on Kubernetes clusters. Proficiency in containerization technologies including Docker, Podman, and K3s. Hands-on experience with Helm for packaging, versioning, and upgrading Kubernetes applications. Solid Linux development, integration, and troubleshooting background. Experience scripting with Bash and/or Python. Active government Secret security clearance (required prior to start, this position is located at a facility requiring special access). Experience with C and/or Java software development, with C preferred. Experience working in a non-standard or on-premises PaaS cloud environment (non-AWS, non-Azure, non-Oracle). Background in DevSecOps practices and Agile methodologies. Clearance: Must have an ACTIVE Secret Clearance
