Job description

Contract Role -- (possibly could turn into Contract to Hire)

Location: Hybrid – Remote + Onsite in Albany, NY

Per Client requirements – Must be US Citizen or Green Card Holder status

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience (maximum of 8 years) in software development or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) roles within Java-based enterprise applications.
  • Strong experience with Core Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, ORM technologies (Hibernate/JPA), Java build tools (Maven/Gradle), and JUnit/TestNG.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both Development and QA teams, contributing to application code, improving testability, and implementing automation strategies that support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
  • Experience designing and developing test automation frameworks and scripts in Selenium (Java).
  • Proven experience in analyzing and writing automation scripts for complex business rules and rules engine.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering
  • Experience developing and testing RESTful Web Services and working with JSON/XML.
  • Understanding of API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
  • Knowledge of database (DB2) concepts, EDI (834, 837), SOAP UI, Rational Quality Manager, Agile methodologies, AccelQ and UI Path.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, and database validation techniques.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience supporting large-scale, enterprise applications with high availability and complex integrations.
  • Ability to write simple and complex SQL Queries, preferably with DB2 SQL syntax including PL/SQL

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare, Medicaid, or Health Exchange experience preferred.
  • Experience with Angular or other modern JavaScript frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience building automation frameworks from the ground up.
  • Experience in Mobile Testing
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
  • Familiarity with performance and security testing.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
