Job description

A high-end Japanese restaurant scheduled to open in Los Angeles, California, is seeking Sushi Chef.

<Job Responsibilities>
・Prepare and serve sushi at the sushi counter
・Prepare sushi ingredients, including fish preparation, cleaning, and storage
・Prepare sushi rice, including cooking, seasoning with sushi vinegar, and temperature control
・Prepare and plate sushi and dishes served as part of the Omakase course
・Prepare and serve sushi and dishes directly in front of guests
・Provide customer service and communicate with guests at the counter
・Serve sushi and dishes according to guests’ preferences and the progression of the meal
・Manage ingredient quality, check inventory, and prepare ingredients
・Maintain kitchen sanitation and comply with food safety standards
・Work closely with other kitchen staff on food preparation and kitchen operations
・Maintain the quality of the Omakase menu
・Perform other duties related to sushi, kitchen, and counter operations

<Requirements>
・Bilingual in Japanese and English
・Authorized to work in the United States
