PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties.
TYPICAL DUTIES:

 

  1. Performs a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools.
  2. Mops, brushes or spreads paint or bituminous compounds over services and applies caulking compound by hand or with caulking gun to seal surfaces.
  3. Lifts, carries and holds building materials and supplies, levels earth to fine grade using pick and shovel and measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes and stretches tight line.
  4. Grinds, sands and polishes surfaces such as concrete or wood.
  5. Cleans tools, equipment, materials and work area.
  6. Adheres to all safety regulations and procedures.
  7. Works harmoniously, cooperatively and courteously with others at all times.
  8. Performs miscellaneous other duties and responsibilities as required.

 
REQUIREMENTS:
Worker should be able to: Follow specific instruction; perform a variety of duties that change often; repeat tasks of short duration according to set procedures; work within standard of accuracy; and evaluate information using measurable standards.  Physically, worker must be able to stand and walk for long periods; use arms and hands to reach for handle and manipulate objects; lift and carry materials weighing 100 pounds; climb up and down ladders, scaffolding and other objects and carry tools and equipment; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, see and hear (naturally or with correction). Must posses a valid driver license

 

BENEFITS:

 

  • Prevailing wage rate plus fringe benefit rate. ($20.00 - $45.00 per hour base rate, $10.00 - $25.00 per hour fringe benefit).
