Job description

Position Summary:

The Janitorial Services Supervisor's primary responsibility will be to oversee the daily operations of the janitorial contract at DARB. This includes coordination of all day to day matters for DARB and supervision of the employees who are employed under the janitorial contract. The Janitorial Services Supervisor is responsible for all activities contained in the statement of work as well as the training of employees and program participants in appropriate work performance and behavior. This includes directing the activities of the team in an efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work. Excellent customer satisfaction must be guaranteed. This requires continuous engagement with the contract and Tommy Nobis Center teams, as well as regular visitation to all DARB service locations for interaction with Nobis Enterprises employees and DARB staff.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Must be a working supervisor.
  • Must be able to initiate, monitor, and conduct quality control inspections in accordance with the contract's Quality Control Plan (QCP), including all required tasks and frequencies. The individual must be able to evaluate inspection results, identify deficiencies, provide corrective guidance, and deliver training to employees based on quality control findings to ensure compliance with contract requirements and continuous performance improvement
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling and coordinating all services in the statement of work.
  • Stewards a positive and productive relationship with Nobis Enterprises DARB customer.
  • Is a cultural champion for the organization fostering an environment of trust, alignment, transparency and accountability.
  • Meets all quality standards in the Statement of Work (SOW) and contract.
  • Conducts daily quality control inspections.
  • Responsible for contract compliance as well as all federal and state regulations including AbilityOne requirements.
  • Sets an example and holds team members accountable for performance, customer service and employee engagement.
  • Drives excellent customer satisfaction in alignment with organizational metrics.
  • Reinforces proper use and care of materials, equipment and tools, ensuring safe and effective practices.
  • Schedule's work and set job priorities in an efficient and responsive manner.
  • In consultation with the employee, devise customized job accommodations for employees when appropriate.
  • Supervises and trains all employees by providing monthly on the job safety and custodial best practices training and monitor the progress as required by the SOW.
  • Coaches and counsels' employees when performance issues occur with a goal of improving future performance.
  • Conducts employee performance evaluations.
  • Recruits new team members in coordination with Tommy Nobis Center Human Resources.
  • Ensures all contract quality standards are met.
  • Serves as the contact point for any questions and concerns expressed by the contract officer.
  • Responsible for coordination of time sheets, accident/injury reports leave requests, and other reports as required by Nobis Enterprises policy.
  • Documents contract service issues and employment development activities in coordination with Nobis Enterprises HR Coordinator and Human Resources as warranted by the specific situation.
  • Responsible for compiling and submitting any/all contractor-vendor performance reports.
  • Responsible for implementation of rehabilitation plans for program participants' training.
  • Facilitates quarterly AbilityOne evaluations in coordination with the Vocational Support Specialist, if required.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies, ordering when necessary, to perform all aspects of the job as outlined in the statement of work.
  • Maintains positive, active relationships with all vendors, SourceAmerica and other primary vendors, service partners, and sub-contractors, if applicable.
  • Participates in Tommy Nobis Center mission related activities (employee events, holiday parties, etc.).
  • Provides consultative guidance regarding Tommy Nobis Center (the facility) janitorial concerns, schedules, minor equipment repair.
  • Participates in annual budgeting progress in regard to staffing and other related expenses.
  • Participates in team conference calls conducted by the NE Sr. Manger.
  • Monitors employee work hours worked in accordance to budget.
  • Assists in preparing bids for project proposals.
  • Meets budget requirements for direct/indirect payroll, supplies and other miscellaneous expenses.
  • For security requirements, all personnel must complete the HGET training before reporting to the site to perform work.

Education:

  • Bachelors' degree in management, business or related field or commensurate experience desired.

Prior Experience Desirable:

  • 4 - 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in the Non- Profit business environment and AbilityOne service contracting.
  • Experience in guiding people with disabilities.
  • Experienced custodial supervisor with proven business development skills.
  • Experience bidding on custodial contracts.
  • Experience in government service contracts.
  • Total Facilities Management (TFM) experience.
  • Custodial management with DARB or another federal agency is highly desired.

Qualifications:

  • Must have basic computer skills for recording time for payroll, weekly/monthly reports, etc.
  • Must be familiar with GREEN CLEANING standards.
  • Knowledge and experience of performing periodic floor care services including carpet and Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT) strip and refinish.
  • Basic troubleshooting and maintenance of floor care cleaning equipment.
  • Maintain driver's license and acceptable driving record in order to operate Tommy Nobis Center or contractor vehicles.
  • Strongly preferred commercial cleaning industry certifications, i.e., ISSA, BOMA, BSCAI, IICRC or other recognized designations.
  • Must pass drug screen and background check.
  • Must be able to satisfy security requirements for access to contracted areas.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must have a clean driving record and maintain the contract vehicle service maintenance requirements.
