Job Description:

Cortina Solutions is seeking a Lean Six Sigma Certified Master Black Belt (MBB) to provide mission-planning and Continuous Organizational Improvement (COI) support to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) J7 Enterprise under the direction of the J7 Program Management Office (PMO) Lead. This position supports strategic acquisition mission planning, enterprise transformation initiatives, and continuous process improvement efforts that directly enable Warfighter readiness.


Responsibilities Include:

The selected candidate will provide enterprise-level Lean Six Sigma leadership supporting strategic planning, acquisition transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives across the DLA J7 portfolio.

  • Support development and execution of strategic, programmatic, and operational mission-planning initiatives
  • Lead Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) efforts aligned to DLA strategic objectives and acquisition performance roadmaps
  • Assist with deployment of organizational performance, workforce capability, and leadership effectiveness initiatives
  • Develop performance measures, dashboards, and reporting tools supporting enterprise decision-making
  • Conduct organizational assessments and recommend improvement strategies to senior leadership
  • Lead project planning activities including prioritization, scheduling, risk management, and execution tracking
  • Mentor CPI practitioners, sponsors, champions, and senior leaders across the organization
  • Support documentation and management of CPI projects within CAPER or equivalent systems
  • Identify and support implementation of enterprise-level process improvement opportunities
  • Provide status reporting and implementation updates throughout CPI project lifecycles


Job Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Master's degree in Leadership or Organizational Development

Certifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification from ASQ or military equivalent
  • Minimum 120 hours formal Master Black Belt training in leadership, culture change, and mentoring

Professional Military Education

  • Advanced PME such as CAS3, CGSC / Intermediate Level Education, or equivalent

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years Master Black Belt experience
  • Minimum 3 years DoD Master Black Belt experience supporting senior leaders
  • Minimum 2 years Master Black Belt experience supporting DLA
  • Experience leading organizational improvement initiatives in DoD environments
  • Experience supporting strategic, programmatic, operational, and tactical mission planning
  • Minimum 5 years experience using CAPER, PowerSteering, or equivalent CPI repository systems
  • Minimum 3 years experience mentoring CPI practitioners and leadership stakeholders
  • Experience conducting maturity assessments and certifying Green and Black Belts
  • Prior CPI experience as a military officer, enlisted NCO, or government civilian

Clearance / Investigation

  • IT-III eligibility or active NACI required

Other

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
