Job description

Valiant is looking for a full-time Joint Training Specialist to join our team! In this role you will support the Collective Joint Training (CJT) contract for the Joint Staff J7 Deputy Directorate Joint Training and Exercises (JS J7 DD JTE) in Suffolk, VA. The CJT contract provides analytical, operational, technical, and administrative support for the execution of all phases of the Joint Training System (JTS) for large joint and combined military exercises.

Emphasis is on the five stages of the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) for Joint Staff and Combatant Command (CCMD) exercise events. This position supports the Chairman's Joint Exercise Division (CJExD) as an Instructor Controller or as a Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) Planner. A Joint Training Specialist Instructor Controller will operate models and simulations (M&S) to accurately replicate Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) of friendly, hostile, and neutral forces during training exercises and system tests of using Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM), Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS), Joint Semi Automated Forces (JSAF), Joint Theater Level Simulation (JTLS), JCATS Low Overhead Driver (JLOD) and Low Overhead Training System (LOTS).

A Joint Training Specialist MSEL Planner develops the MSEL database in the Joint Training Tool (JTT) for military exercises, organizes and facilitates MSEL scripting conferences, serves as a functional expert in the Exercise Control Group (ECG) for MSEL synchronization and implementation, and assists Exercise Planners and Trusted Agents in the crafting of MSEL injects relevant to the exercise scenario. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties: Must have knowledge in one of the two subgroups and be able to learn the other. Instructor Controller: * Knowledge of at least one of the following models and simulations and able to learn the others.

* Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM) * Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS) * Joint Semi Automated Forces (JSAF) * Joint Theater Level Simulation (JTLS) * Joint Low Overhead Driver (JLOD) * Low Overhead Training System (LOTS) * Ability to master and then give platform instruction as a primary instructor for various simulations, maintaining proficiency in joint and service doctrine, and certification in specified models and simulations. * Perform workstation controller tasks during exercise events, including instructing gamer augmentees, facilitating exercise response cell supervisor, and assisting the Scenario Manager and JECG Director * Support simulation development efforts as needed, including testing new versions, serving as Senior Control, and Deputy Test Director * Other Duties as required. MSEL Planner: * Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) Planner in the Scenario/MSEL Exercise/Event Design Section.

Prepares the MSEL for joint/combined Joint Staff J7 supported exercises/events. * In coordination with supported military customers and the Joint Exercise Support Team performs duties as Scenario and/or MSEL Planner during exercise/event planning and execution. * As the MSEL Planner develops the MSEL in the JTT; provides the MSEL overview briefing; Briefs MSEL scripted events/storylines; Coordinates the JMSEL database for assigned exercises; and supports MSEL synchronization requirements as required.

Assist the lead planner in Scenario and/or MSEL management and development. * Performs duties as MSEL Coordinator during exercise execution. * Provides instruction in JMSEL operations to members of the Exercise Control Group.

Attends exercise/event planning conferences and attends coordination meetings as required. * Other duties as required Position Requirements CLEARANCE REQUREMENT: Active Secret. WORKING CONDITIONS: Position: On-site, Office environment Work Week: Monday-Friday (may vary based on mission requirements) Work Hours: 0800 - 1700 (may vary based on mission requirements) Overtime: Exempt, but surge efforts as required Travel: As required, up to 30% PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees.
