Employment is limited to the specific program and sponsor-approved positions.

What jobs can you do on a J-1 visa?

A J-1 visa allows individuals to participate in exchange visitor programs, including a variety of temporary jobs such as internships, training programs, research, teaching, and seasonal work. Is J-1 visa better or H-1B?

The J-1 visa is a non-immigrant exchange visitor visa often used for internships, training, or research, while the H-1B visa is a work visa for skilled professionals in specialty occupations. The H-1B generally allows for longer employment periods and dual intent to pursue permanent residency, whereas the J-1 may have restrictions on duration and require returning to the home country after completion. The choice depends on the employment goals, duration, and whether the individual plans to seek permanent residence.
