A Taste of What You'll Do

As a Market Development Manager – Beer & RTD, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of Gallo brands across Retail and On Premise accounts. You’ll bring strategy to life by partnering closely with distributor teams, executing sales and marketing programs, and identifying opportunities to expand distribution and maximize brand performance. Your ability to analyze market dynamics, understand pricing structures, and respond to competitive trends will directly influence business outcomes in your assigned territory.

In this role, you’ll balance strategic planning with hands‑on execution—coaching distributor sales teams, aligning priorities, and reallocating your time to the highest‑impact opportunities. You’ll be a trusted partner to cross‑functional teams, collaborating with shopper marketing, sales finance, and customer development to ensure seamless execution in market. Your influence will extend beyond accounts as you motivate teams, support recruiting efforts, and act as a brand ambassador within the community.

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of CPG sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State‑issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to obtain liquor license as required by state/locality.
  • Required to travel by air and car in order to execute job functions.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Required to travel by air and automobile up to 50% during the course of business.
  • Experience demonstrating strong leadership selling, time management, public speaking skills.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, as listed in this job description.
How You'll Stand Out
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of Gallo Winery or distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • 1 year of malt or RTD beverage experience.

  • We offer a broad salary range to allow for long‑term growth. Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case‑by‑case basis related to these factors. In addition to the salary, this position may be eligible for bonuses, incentive plans, or participate in tasting room tip pools, as applicable.
  • This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting and requires regular travel within your assigned territory. Occasional travel to company sites may be required as needed.
