Job description

IWS is seeking a pediatrician, responsible for delivering high-quality medical care that is responsive to the evolving health needs of our patient population and community. This position was designed with a full-time provider in mind, but we are open to candidates looking for a part-time schedule. We estimate that this role will be 90% clinical and 10% administrative.
Position Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality, patient-centered care in an FQHC Look-a-like setting via in-person visits and telehealth.
  • Conduct well child visits, immunizations, developmental screenings, and acute care visits.
  • Diagnose and manage pediatric illnesses, chronic conditions, and behavioral concerns.
  • Participate in 24-hour call rotation with other providers.
  • Review laboratory results, referral results, and emergency room discharge, and follow-up appropriately.
  • Collaborate with nurses, behavioral health and dental providers, clinical support staff, and specialists to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Assist in education of patients, residents, medical students, and other staff as appropriate.
  • Apply a continuous quality improvement approach to care and participate in quality initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant electronic health records (EHR).
  • Participate in community outreach events as needed.
  • Adhere to FQHC regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with others to ensure compliance with IWS funding and grant requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • MD or DO from accredited institution
  • Active, unrestricted Illinois medical license
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
  • Current NPI and DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • Current BLS and CPR certification (PALS preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in community health setting and working with underserved populations
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Records, experience with eCW preferred
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team, including dental, behavioral health, speech therapy, nursing, and more
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $216,300 depending on experience. IWS Family Health provides a competitive salary and benefits plan, including generous Paid Time Off (PTO), paid holidays, health, dental, life and vision insurance options, a medical expense reimbursement plan, and a 403(b) option.
