Job description

We are seeking an outstanding candidate to fill our PRN Laboratory Technician role at our Winter Park, Florida location. If you have a heart for working in the lab in women's health, we look forward to receiving your application!
Under direct supervision of the Lab Supervisor, Manager or Director, the Lab Technician is responsible for providing laboratory services and working directly with technical or assistant staff performing tests in the clinical laboratory. Additionally, the responsibility also includes assisting the other lab staff in daily duties and to provide support for all areas in the Endocrine/Andrology laboratory, as well for the IVF laboratory, as needed. The Lab Technician also provides assistance with scheduling patients for andrology procedures and tissue transport, accepting frozen tissue samples, performing all supporting documentation related to Andrology/Endocrine lab work to support frozen tissue acceptance. Obtain and maintain tissue bank licensure and certifications, if applicable to the work location.
Weekday hours: 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with rotating Saturdays and holidays.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Enter specific clinical data into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Keep the laboratory stocked, cleaned and organized
  • Aid in shipping and receiving of specimens
  • Move and change supply tanks (compressed gas and liquid nitrogen)
  • Receive visitors, answer phone calls, and triage appropriately
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/ Skills:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree in chemistry or science preferred.
  • Florida MT or MLT license is required.
  • Two years of related administrative job experience strongly preferred.
  • Highly organized with an ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
  • Must be a great communicator and team player.
  • Must be able to work independently.
