Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Home Health position in Pinellas County, FL, requiring OASIS training and skilled home care experience with a varied self-scheduling model.

Details
  • Home health setting serving Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance patients
  • Patient care includes cardiopulmonary assessments, wound care (basic, ABI compression, wound vac), Pleurx/Asept drain care, foley catheter changes, staple/suture removal, glucometer and pro-time machine use, SQ/IM injections, lab draws/venipuncture, IV skills, and PICC line or midline care and dressing changes
  • Caseload of 6–8 home visits per day
  • Shift hours vary based on HomeCare office needs: Mon–Fri 8a–5p or 9a–6p, or Thurs–Mon/Fri–Tues rotations with alternating weekend shifts
  • Visits and hours are self-scheduled based on office needs
  • Documentation systems used: BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet
  • Equipment provided includes a laptop, MiFi hotspot, and portable printer
Requirements
  • Active FL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of skilled home health nursing experience required; private duty nursing experience alone will not be accepted
  • OASIS training and hands-on experience required
  • Proficiency in IV therapy and wound care required
  • Experience with high-risk diagnoses including heart failure (HF), COPD, MI, pneumonia, and stroke
  • Experience with general medical diagnoses and post-op care
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required to perform home visits
  • COVID vaccination required, or exemption form on file
  • Flu shot required or declination on file; mandatory mask wearing at all times while on assignment in either case
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

  • Perform skilled home visits across a varied patient caseload covering cardiopulmonary, wound care, IV therapy, and high-risk chronic condition management
