Summary:

The Material Master Item Setup Coordinator is responsible for the creation and maintenance of Materials Master Data in SAP and performing various inventory related functions. The incumbent will be highly skilled in Microsoft Office and have experience in SAP (MM) S/4HANA Materials Management and (WM) Warehouse Management in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create new items as requested from authorized stakeholders. 
  • Maintain and update SAP master data for all existing items in all plants
  • Serves as liaison with all the departments responsible for authorizing SAP Material Master Data
  • Assemble master data input information from key stakeholders.
  • Maintain material master naming convention guidelines for all materials, descriptions, material groups.
  • Perform costing for all materials.
  • Understand product costing and ensuring costing values reflect costing methodology
  • Monitor MM (material master) worklist for completion of tasks for various departments.
  • Understand Info records especially with UOM (unit of measure) calculations.
  • Perform UOM calculations to its lowest conversion.
  • Understand the various stocking programs within the warehouse and guide engineering department with item setup request when needed.
  • Read design specification and technical details.
  • Manage the make materials records; reason for creation, set up accuracy, drawing attachment to material number, and other support needed from the key stakeholders.
  • Qualifying the final MM setup task.
  • Following projects using engineering principles and techniques.
  • Use research, analytical, conceptual, and planning skills particularly mathematical with better understanding of item pricing.  Moving average and standard costing.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner that reflects integrity and respect towards, peers, supervisors and other key stakeholders of the company.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of work experience.
  • Experienced with SAP-S4/HANA master data creation and maintenance in a manufacturing environment.  This is a must!
  • Knowledge of SAP-S4/HANA Materials Management including Materials Master, BOM, Routings.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs with Advanced Skills using MS Excel.
  • Good communication and time management skills.

Education/Experience:

  • College degree in Business Engineering, Business/Administration, Technical, preferred
  • Minimum three years manufacturing experience.
  • Strong computer knowledge, preferred SAP ERP Software, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work at a detailed level.
  • Knowledge of analytical tools.
  • Understand bill-of-material explosion; single level, indented, or summarized.
  • Producing details of specifications for outline designs.
  • Knowledge of mechanical parts nomenclature.
  • Responsible for executing the end-to-end Material Master Process.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Must have good analytical reasoning skills and the ability to make independent decisions as appropriate.  Additionally, the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in both written and oral form.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and understand English instructions

Mathematical Skills:

  • Strong math skills required.
  • Conversion of unit of measure.
  • Reading design specification and technical drawings.
  • Reporting research results.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an office environment in a manufacturing plant.
