Job description

About Radiant

Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company’s first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor that can be transported anywhere power is needed and run for up to 5 years without refueling. Portable nuclear power with rapid-deploy capability can replace similar-sized diesel generators and provide critical asset support for hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases. Radiant’s unique, practical approach to nuclear development leverages modern software engineering to rapidly deliver safe, factory-built microreactors that use existing, well-qualified materials. Founded in 2020, Radiant is on track to test its first reactor at the Idaho National Laboratory this summer, with initial customer deliveries beginning in 2028.

About the Role
Radiant is executing a significant, multi-year capital program across a range of financing vehicles to support our manufacturing scale up, R&D and internal CapEx. As Structured Finance Manager, you will own designing and executing ITC (Investment Tax Credits) monetization strategy, governing compliance obligations, and providing financial structuring analysis on major contracts and capital transactions.

This is a high-visibility, largely individual-contributor-to-start role reporting to the VP of Finance with the mandate to scale into a broader structured finance function as our capital program grows.

What You'll Own

ITC Strategy:

  • Structure ITC elections and monetization pathways working with tax and legal advisors to select the optimal framework, as well as own qualification and optimization of bonus adders.

  • Structure contracting to ensure credit eligibility and rate terms ahead of phase-downs or rule changes, working proactively against deadlines.

  • Build documentation infrastructure needed to withstand IRS, lender, and tax equity diligence and keep it audit-ready on an ongoing basis.

  • Own recurring reporting obligations tied to the credit (Treasury/IRS filings, transferability registration, and investor/lender reporting) ensuring nothing is missed as Radiant scales.

  • Monitor recapture risk across each asset's required compliance period following placed-in-service, flagging any operational or ownership changes.

  • Coordinate with EPC/construction contractors, third-party auditors, Legal and Accounting so compliance obligations are built into contracts up front and monitored continuously.

Structured Financial Product Management:

  • Map out structured financing options, identify key terms and implications / exposure for Radiant.

  • Lead or support negotiations and deal executions with lenders and other financial partners.

  • Lead tracking and internal/investor reporting related to structured financial products.

  • Liaise with Strategic Finance, Risk & Compliance, and other Radiant teams on forward-looking exposure and risk mitigation.

Government Contracting & Multi-Entity Structuring:

  • Provide financial structuring analysis on major government and commercial contracts, including deal economics, financing implications, and entity-level considerations.

  • Support liability structuring across Radiant's multi-entity architecture in coordination with Legal, Accounting, and the Risk & Compliance function.

  • Advise on the financial implications of government contracting structures as they relate to capital deployment and financing.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in structured finance, project finance, tax equity, or a related capital markets discipline; experience in manufacturing, energy, or capital-intensive infrastructure sectors strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree a plus.

  • Direct experience with Investment Tax Credit (ITC) or similar tax credit monetization structures (tax equity, transferability).

  • Experience with debt covenant governance and lender/investor reporting.

  • Familiarity with government contracting structures and their financial implications is a strong plus.

  • Strong financial modeling skills, with the ability to translate complex deal structures into clear recommendations for finance and executive leadership.

Additional Requirements :

  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to accomplish our mission.

  • Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ.

Benefits and Perks
  • Stock: Substantial incentive stock plan for all full-time employees.

  • Medical: 100% up to base silver level plan for employee + 50% dependents, offers up to Platinum plans.

  • One Medical: Sponsored memberships for employees and their dependents.

  • Vision: 100% top tier plan coverage + 50% for dependents.

  • Dental: 100% top tier plan coverage, orthodontia extra, 50% for dependents.

  • Voluntary life, accident, hospital, critical illness, commuter and FSA/HSA are offered as employee contributed benefits.

  • 8-weeks of paid parental leave for all parents. Additional paid pregnancy leave for CA employees.

  • Daily catered lunch. Free snacks and drinks.

  • Flexible PTO policy. Remote workday allocation.

  • Company and team-bonding events, happy hours and in-person camaraderie.

  • Beautiful El Segundo headquarters close to the Pacific Ocean.

Total Compensation and Benefits
Radiant compensates people for impact and invests in those who continue to raise the bar. Radiant’s new hire compensation package includes base salary, substantial equity grants, and comprehensive health benefits.
