What You'll Be Doing

The IT Manager - IT Asset Management (ITAM) is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and continuous improvement of the IT Asset Management practice. This role manages the people, processes, platforms, and physical assets that support the full IT asset lifecycle, ensuring assets are accurately tracked, efficiently utilized, compliant, and aligned with business objectives. As the operational owner of ITAM, this manager is accountable for inventory accuracy, physical storage and logistics, software and hardware lifecycle governance, and daytoday execution of the ITAM program. The role partners closely with IT, Finance, Procurement, Security, Risk, and business teams to ensure asset data is trusted, auditable, and actionable, while driving maturity, automation, and measurable business value.

What We're Looking For
  • Lead the enterprise IT Asset Management (ITAM) practice across hardware, software, and cloud assets.
  • Establish and enforce ITAM standards, policies, lifecycle controls, and operating procedures.
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for ITAM outcomes, data quality, and operational effectiveness.
  • Define and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics for accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and value.
  • Manage and develop the ITAM team through coaching, performance management, development planning, and prioritization.
  • Maintain accountability for enterprise inventory accuracy, reconciliation, reporting, and audit readiness.
  • Oversee physical storage locations, asset rooms, and logistics to ensure assets are secure, organized, and auditable.
  • Define and manage end-to-end asset lifecycle processes, including planning, acquisition, receiving, staging, deployment, reuse, returns, retirement, and disposal.
  • Lead routine and complex reconciliations across ITSM, procurement, finance, and discovery tools.
  • Ensure software license compliance, entitlement management, and usage optimization.
  • Own the ITAM platform (e.g., Halo ITSM), including configuration standards, data models, and integrations.
  • Partner with Finance, Procurement, Security, Risk, IT leaders, and vendors to align ITAM with business needs and deliver actionable reporting.
  • Own the ITAM maturity roadmap, identifying process gaps, inefficiencies, and risks, and driving corrective actions and measurable improvements.
  • Maintain clear, current ITAM documentation and stay current on best practices, frameworks, and emerging technologies.
What You'll Bring
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and running an operational IT function.
  • Strong knowledge of ITAM best practices, asset lifecycle management, and data governance.
  • Experience with enterprise ITSM/ITAM platforms, Halo ITSM preferred.
  • Solid financial and business acumen with the ability to connect asset data to cost and risk outcomes.
  • Proven ability to partner across technical and business teams.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum Required: 5+ years of experience in IT Asset Management, IT Operations, or a related enterprise IT discipline.
  • Preferred: Experience leading enterprise ITAM programs across hardware, software, SaaS, and cloud assets in a regulated environment. Experience supporting software publisher audits, contract renewals, entitlement reconciliation, and cost optimization initiatives. Familiarity with ISO/IEC 19770 standards and IT asset management control frameworks. ITIL 4 Foundation or higher; ITIL 4 Practitioner: IT Asset Management; IAITAM CAMP, CSAM, or CHAMP.
Licenses & Credentials
  • Minimum Required: ITIL V3 or V4 Foundations Certification or ITITAM Certification.
  • Preferred: Intermediate certifications in ITIL principles/practices.
Systems & Technology
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
