Position Summary

The IT Asset Processing Technician is responsible for testing, diagnosing, repairing, refurbishing, processing, and preparing IT assets for resale, redeployment, or responsible recycling. This position focuses on computer hardware, secure data destruction, quality assurance, inventory accuracy, and R2v3-compliant processing. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, accountability, technical aptitude, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

·        Receive, inspect, and process incoming IT equipment and electronics.

·        Perform certified data destruction and data sanitization procedures.

·        Test, diagnose, grade, and refurbish laptops, desktops, servers, networking equipment, monitors, and mobile devices.

·        Install and configure Windows operating systems, drivers, and software images.

·        Upgrade and replace hardware components including RAM, SSDs, hard drives, batteries, keyboards, displays, and other parts.

·        Perform functional and cosmetic quality inspections to company standards.

·        Accurately label, serialize, and maintain chain-of-custody documentation.

·        Maintain inventory accuracy using barcode scanners and inventory systems.

·        Disassemble end-of-life equipment for material recovery and responsible recycling.

·        Support compliance with R2v3, ISO standards, and company operating procedures.

·        Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.

·        Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, quality, and asset recovery.

Required Qualifications

·        Minimum one year of experience in computer repair, electronics refurbishment, IT support, ITAD, or a related technical field.

·        Working knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware.

·        Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

·        Ability to install operating systems and replace hardware components.

·        Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

·        Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

·        Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout the workday.

·        Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

·        Experience in IT Asset Disposition (ITAD).

·        Experience with electronics recycling or refurbishment.

·        CompTIA A+ or equivalent technical certification.

·        Experience with data sanitization software.

·        Knowledge of R2v3, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001.
