Company Overview
Founded in 1912, Nehring Electrical Works has been producing wire and cable products longer than any wire mill in the Midwest. Nehring manufactures and markets bare/insulated copper and aluminum wire to the utility, telecommunication, electrical distribution and OEM markets. Due to continued growth, Nehring needs to hire an Accounts Payable/Receivable Associate to support its business initiatives.

Job Description
Under the direction of the Manager- ERP Systems, the I.T. Business Analyst is responsible for gathering business requirements, performing fact-finding activities that may result in new development or implementation of a new software solution or process improvements/simplifications. This position will also be responsible for the research and project management of systems enhancements along with participating as a team member on larger projects, including coordinating tasks, defining the project scope, establish timeline/milestones and perform post-mortem reviews. Must be a leader with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working with and coordinating cross-functional teams, and produce results on multiple projects at the same time. Must be results oriented and eager to tackle difficult problems with a positive attitude.
Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 3-5 yrs ERP experience; 2-3 yrs experience as a Programmer/Analyst; project management experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides the skills and abilities to perform the job. Should be familiar with ERP related Accounting, Sales Order Processing, Purchasing, Security, and Segregation of Duties.
Not required but considered a plus: QAD experience, SQL experience, other ERP functionality experience, EDI experience, Engineering or similar background. Progress ABL, and Windows or Unix OS skills a definite plus.
Job Duties
  • Provides support to, and communicates with functional managers, process owners, and end users; analyzes process improvement and simplification opportunities and helps define systems and process changes or information requirements; develops specifications based on these requirements.
  • Serves as a project leader with programming, technical, vendor and business personnel to determine system requirements, resource requirements, installation and implementation plans.
  • Defines project tasks and assist management with task assignment, establishing timeframes, project milestones, progress monitoring, and requirements compliance.
  • Provides analysis of data or aids users in the retrieval and interpretation of data.
  • Develops an understanding of business processes and evaluates the business implications of system development and maintenance issues.
  • Maintains in depth understanding of the Mueller's business systems in Sales, Procurement, and Accounting management as well as QAD Security and Segregation of Duties.
  • Maintains a moderate understanding of each of Mueller's business areas and works with other IT analysts or business consultants on large cross-functional projects.
  • Accurately and timely identifies program, application, and system problems and assists in troubleshooting the cause.
  • Mentors less experienced IT personnel.
  • Performs other assignments as requested or as business needs require.
