Job description

Job Summary:
Vopak is seeking a proactive, hands-on Junior to Mid-Level IT Support / Field Technician to provide on-site support across their West Coast terminals, covering both IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments. This role is critical for maintaining operational continuity and offers exposure to advanced OT systems and infrastructure under senior technical leaders' guidance.
Responsibilities:
• Provide hands-on support for company desktops, laptops, Chromebox, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals across offices and terminals.
• Manage tickets through ServiceNow (INC, RITM, PRB) in compliance with ITIL processes.
• Maintain high-quality asset data and lifecycle compliance.
• Support Google-native meeting rooms, Chromebox systems, audiovisual (AV) equipment, and collaboration tools aligned with Vopak Global IT standards, ensuring dependable conferencing, display, and presentation capabilities.
• Work closely with Global IT functional teams, regional leadership, and third-party vendors.
• Execute additional IT and foundational OT tasks and projects as assigned to support terminal operations, modernization initiatives, and business continuity.
• Provide immediate, hands-on triage and real-time incident response for critical OT and IT systems to minimize operational downtime.
• Assist in the enforcement of OT security protocols, including managing network segmentation, and ensuring compliance with maritime security standards.
• Be responsible for asset management, maintaining an accurate inventory, and managing the lifecycle of critical IT and OT assets.
• Implement new cybersecurity regulations and ensure full compliance with cybersecurity configurations and standards.
• Identify and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues across the terminals.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 2–4 years of hands-on IT support experience in a field, industrial, or multi-site environment.
• Experience supporting Windows endpoints, laptops, peripherals, printers, and mobile devices in a corporate environment.
• Working knowledge of ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and familiarity with ITIL-based incident and request management processes.
• Experience maintaining asset inventories and configuration data (CMDB exposure preferred).
• Exposure to network troubleshooting (basic connectivity, switches, VLAN awareness, Wi-Fi diagnostics).
• Experience supporting meeting room or collaboration technologies (Google Workspace, conferencing systems, ClickShare, etc.).
• Familiarity with Active Directory user administration (account provisioning, access management, group membership).
• Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
