A large public sector organization is seeking an IT Technical Aid to support enterprise technology operations within a centralized information technology environment. The position provides technical assistance to internal users while supporting routine IT operations and desktop technologies.

Position Summary

The IT Technical Aid works under the supervision of professional IT staff to provide basic technical support, assist customers with technology issues, perform routine systems-related tasks, support desktop hardware and software, assist with printer operations, and help install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IT equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support to end users.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Document, track, research, and resolve support requests.
  • Escalate priority incidents following established procedures.
  • Assist with systems testing and production support.
  • Validate user documentation and instructional materials.
  • Support office and commercial printers.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop equipment, printers, cabling, and related hardware.
  • Lift equipment and office supplies up to 20 pounds as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in an information systems environment involving desktop software use or installation and/or operation of high-speed commercial printers.
