Description
Northwest Kidney Centers seeks an IT Technical Manager to support the Information Technology team in a full-time, hybrid position (Burien, WA).
Shift: Full-time, Monday-Friday, Hybrid.
Purpose
The IT Technical Manager supports the VP of IT in managing the Technical Team and provides day-to-day leadership and oversight of NKC's infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud services, and Salesforce development functions. This role drives operational excellence, supports new technology initiatives, and ensures reliable, secure, and scalable technology services across the organization. The IT Technical Manager serves as a key partner to internal stakeholders and vendors, helping translate organizational needs into practical, sustainable technology solutions.
Duties
1. Technical Team Leadership and People Management
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Technical Team and serve as an escalation point for technical, operational, and staffing matters.
  • Directly supervise Technical Team members, including performance management, coaching, professional development, work prioritization, and workload balancing.
  • Conduct interviews and provide hiring recommendations for Technical Team positions to the VP of IT.
  • Provide and coordinate training for the team related to systems, processes, and effective use of technology tools.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable team culture aligned with NKC's mission, values, and customer service expectations.
  • Provide supervision of department daily operations in the absence of the VP of IT.

2. Infrastructure, Cloud, and Cybersecurity Operations
  • Oversee network infrastructure, server environments, security tools, cloud services, and related technical platforms.
  • Ensure cybersecurity policies, controls, procedures, and technical safeguards are maintained, documented, and continuously improved.
  • Oversee vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, remediation planning, and related security improvement activities.
  • Coordinate incident response, disaster recovery testing, and business continuity planning for assigned technical systems and services.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance across technical systems, infrastructure, and related operational processes.

3. Salesforce Development and Application Delivery
  • Manage the Salesforce development team, including oversight of application delivery, code quality, release management, and prioritization of development work.
  • Coordinate the development pipeline for new Salesforce applications, enhancements, integrations, and system improvements in partnership with the Solutions Team.
  • Ensure development standards, documentation, version control practices, testing expectations, and release procedures are followed.

4. Vendor, Contract, and Service Management
  • Manage relationships with managed service providers, cloud vendors, security vendors, SaaS partners, consulting programmers, and other technology providers.
  • Manage vendor statements of work, service level agreements, contracts, deliverables, invoicing support, and technical escalations for infrastructure, security, and development services.
  • Monitor vendor performance and collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to resolve service issues and support reliable technology operations.

5. Project Delivery, Planning, and Process Improvement
  • Lead technical projects in alignment with the IT Operational Plan and organizational priorities.
  • Set team priorities, manage resource allocation, sequence project work, and support operational planning for infrastructure, security, and development functions.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for infrastructure uptime, security posture, service quality, and development delivery.
  • Drive process improvements across change management, incident management, problem management, documentation, and team workflows.
  • Identify opportunities for standardization in team processes and technology practices.
  • Support IT budgeting for infrastructure, security, software, cloud services, and development expenditures.

6. Compliance, Documentation, and Organizational Support
  • Ensure compliance with Change Control Procedures, legal requirements, company policies, and applicable regulatory expectations.
  • Maintain policies and procedures and ensure accurate documentation is completed and maintained by the team.
  • Communicate team issues, operational concerns, risks, progress, and recommendations to the VP of IT.
  • Serve as a collaborative partner to IT leaders, internal departments, and operational stakeholders to support reliable technology services.
  • Work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the VP of IT.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required (Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred); Master's degree a plus.
  • 7+ years of IT experience, including 3+ years in a technical management or team lead role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing infrastructure, security, and/or development teams.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST and the HIPAA Security Rule.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, including Azure, and enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Experience overseeing Salesforce or similar SaaS platform development preferred.
  • Strong vendor management and contract oversight experience.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and healthcare business processes is a plus.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification a plus.

Salary Range: M75 $118,726.40 - $154,190.40- $189,654.40
