General Information:

Information Technology is seeking an organized, detailed, and reliable Intern for the Policy and Compliance Team. This internship is a paid student position that requires an average of 15 hours each week. This position is for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. Working hours will be scheduled according to the student's availability within JMU's normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with the handling of university and vendor data.
Ability to communicate with customers and vendors clearly and professionally.
Research systems and services in support of IT's third-party vendor management program.
Assist with ensuring file documentation is organized and complete.
Ability to work on multiple projects at once.
Other duties as assigned.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
High level of attention to detail for completed work.
Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
Effective time management, task organization, and prioritization skills.
Strong research skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Teams.

Conditions of Employment:  

Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.
