IT Support Specialist

Kaufman Dolowich is a leading national law firm with more than 250 attorneys across 16 offices and over 25 practice areas. We are seeking a motivated and service-oriented IT Support Specialist to join our Information Technology team in our Woodbury, Long Island office. This is a full-time, 100% on-site position.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career technology professional or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, professional environment. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced IT professionals while providing direct support to attorneys, executives, and business staff across the firm.

Beyond traditional help desk support, this role offers exposure to Microsoft 365 technologies, cybersecurity initiatives, cloud-based solutions, legal applications, networking, artificial intelligence tools, and workflow automation projects

Woodbury will serve as the employee's primary office; however, the position will also require occasional travel to other firm locations, primarily within the New York metropolitan area.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to attorneys, executives, and staff, with a strong focus on hands-on support within the Woodbury office.
  • Respond to, troubleshoot, document, and resolve support requests through Freshservice.
  • Support Windows laptops and related hardware, including drivers, docking stations, monitors, webcams, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel, and other Office desktop applications.
  • Assist users with Microsoft 365 authentication, passwords, multifactor authentication (MFA), and Microsoft Authenticator.
  • Support the Firm’s Document Management System and assist users with document access, filing, searching, and application-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot basic network, Wi-Fi, Internet, and connectivity problems.
  • Provide technical support for conference rooms, Microsoft Teams and Zoom meetings, displays, cameras, microphones, and other audiovisual equipment.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including account creation, equipment deployment, workstation setup, equipment collection, and access changes.
  • Install, configure, deploy, replace, and troubleshoot computers and other office technology.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of mobile devices and firm-approved mobile applications.
  • Identify and appropriately escalate suspected phishing emails, security incidents, and other cybersecurity concerns.
  • Work with outside technology vendors when necessary to troubleshoot and resolve support issues.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation, knowledge-base articles, and end-user instructions.
  • Provide occasional on-site IT support at other firm offices within the New York metropolitan area, as business needs require.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • 0–2 years of IT experience. Internship, campus IT, help desk, or other hands-on technical experience is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a logical approach to diagnosing technical issues.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive and privileged information.
  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment weighing approximately 20–30 pounds.

Target Base Compensation Range:  $50,000 – $60,000
