The State of Maine Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Information Technology Consultant to lead critical enterprise services including Enterprise Storage, Enterprise Backup, Enterprise Document Management, Secure File Transfer, and related infrastructure platforms. In this pivotal leadership role, you will shape strategy, ensure operational reliability, and guide the ongoing evolution of the systems that safeguard and enable essential information across State government.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Provide technical and strategic leadership for enterprise storage, backup services, cloud-integrated storage solutions, document management platforms, and secure file transfer services.
  • Oversee cloud infrastructure design, management, monitoring, and cost optimization (Azure, AWS, cloud billing).
  • Lead enterprise administration efforts across Windows Server, Linux based storage appliances, Microsoft 365, VMware, directory services, and related technologies.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of technical professionals within the Computing Infrastructure & Services (CIS) group.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of enterprise platforms through proactive planning, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support enterprise applications and deliver integrated infrastructure services to agencies.
  • Participate in the CIS 24x7 On-Call rotation and provide escalation support for critical systems.
  • Collaborate with leadership on service roadmaps, modernization initiatives, and alignment with statewide IT strategies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Enterprise backup and recovery systems
