Job description

IT Support & Operations Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an IT Support & Operations Specialist to join our growing IT department. This position serves as the primary point of contact for day-to-day technology support across the organization while assisting with the operation and maintenance of business systems.

This is a hands-on role focused on the day-to-day operation of the company’s technology environment, including end-user support, workstation management, user administration, and routine IT operations. The position will work closely with employees throughout the company to keep systems running smoothly, resolve issues quickly, and ensure technology remains reliable, secure, and effective.

This role works closely with a variety of business systems and technologies, including Microsoft 365, ERP software, eCommerce platforms, networking, cybersecurity, and business process automation.

Responsibilities

End User Support

·         Serve as the first point of contact for technical support requests

·         Troubleshoot desktop, laptop, printer, mobile device, and software issues

·         Provide support through email, phone, Microsoft Teams, and in-person interactions

·         Resolve issues efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer service

·         Escalate complex infrastructure and application issues when appropriate

Workstation & User Administration

·         Configure, deploy, and maintain Windows workstations

·         Create and manage user accounts and permissions

·         Install, configure, and update approved software applications

·         Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding activities

·         Maintain workstation security standards and compliance requirements

IT Operations

·         Perform routine operational tasks and system checks

·         Maintain technology inventory and asset records

·         Assist with hardware replacements and technology refresh projects

·         Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures

·         Coordinate with vendors and service providers when necessary

·         Support company technology initiatives and improvement projects

Business Application Support

·         Assist users with Microsoft 365 applications

·         Support ERP, eCommerce, and other business applications

·         Troubleshoot user-facing application issues

·         Work with department managers to identify and resolve recurring technology problems

Qualifications

Required

·         2+ years of IT support, help desk, desktop support, or related experience

·         Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

·         Excellent communication and customer service skills

·         Experience supporting Windows desktop environments

·         Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications

·         Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests simultaneously

·         Strong documentation and organizational skills

·         Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks

Preferred

·         Experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP)

·         Experience supporting ERP, eCommerce, or other business management software

·         Familiarity with Active Directory and Microsoft 365 administration

·         Experience supporting printers, scanners, and office technology

·         Basic networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and wireless networking

·         Experience with endpoint security and device management solutions
