Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Operations & Support Engineer with 35 years of hands-on experience to support and enhance our IT environment within a fast-paced AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) consulting firm.
This role blends Tier 2 end-user support with systems, cloud, and infrastructure responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both solving immediate problems and contributing to long-term operational improvements. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient IT operations that support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide Tier 2 helpdesk support and escalation assistance

- Support engineers and staff in a high-demand consulting environment

- Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Entra ID)

- Support Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and file services

- Assist with Hyper-V virtualized environments

- Troubleshoot networking issues (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN)

- Assist with Azure administration and cloud services

- Maintain documentation and ticketing records

- Participate in after-hours maintenance as needed

Required Experience & Qualifications

- 35 years of professional IT support or systems administration experience

- Experience supporting end users in a professional services or AEC environment preferred

- Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills

- Working knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory

- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration

- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V preferred)

- Understanding of basic networking concepts

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Certifications

- CompTIA A+

- CompTIA Network+

- Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900)

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)

- Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) preferred

Salary Range Southern California

$80,000 $100,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and AEC background.
