Senior Network Architect

Location: Dallas, TX (Candidate must reside or relocate to Houston, TX) Duration: Contract Rate: DOE Visa: USC / GC Only

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Architect to lead the design, engineering, and modernization of enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing scalable WAN/MAN/LAN architectures, evaluating emerging technologies, and delivering high-performance, secure communication solutions across voice, video, and data networks. This role requires deep expertise in Cisco platforms, routing protocols, and software-defined networking, along with strong leadership and architecture skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop engineering recommendations covering design, integration, installation, testing, and operational support of communication systems and network infrastructure
  • Support local, regional, and wide area networks, including voice, video, data, and imagery communications
  • Review existing network architecture and design modern WAN/MAN/LAN solutions
  • Recommend best practices, including SDN, intent-based networking, and network segmentation strategies
  • Design telecommunications circuit specifications and connectivity architecture
  • Identify and recommend routers, switches, and encryption devices for enterprise services
  • Deliver service catalog items for automated network provisioning and configuration management
  • Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, standards, and artifacts
  • Provide senior-level troubleshooting and performance optimization for complex LAN/WAN environments
  • Implement scalable, cost-effective, and high-performance IP networking solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise and cloud networking initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies
  • Strong experience with Cisco routing platforms, including ASR and ISR
  • Deep knowledge of routing protocols: BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, GRE
  • Strong Layer 2 expertise, including STP, MST, VLANs
  • Experience troubleshooting complex LAN/WAN environments
  • Hands-on experience in network design and traffic engineering
  • Experience implementing high-performance enterprise IP networks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and organizational levels
