Job description

About the Role

We are seeking an IT & Infrastructure Lead to serve as Netpreme's first dedicated IT and infrastructure hire. You will own the systems, tools, and infrastructure the company operates on, from the software and devices our team relies on daily to the server environment and compute that power our work.

You will be part of an early-stage, high-growth startup working on solutions in the semiconductor and AI infrastructure space. As our founding IT hire, you will help define this function, establish standards that scale with the company, and grow alongside it. This role will be performed onsite from our office in Santa Clara, CA.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

IT & Systems

  • Administer and provision the company's core software stack, managing accounts, access, and licensing as the team scales.
  • Lead employee onboarding and offboarding, including hardware provisioning, account creation, and access management across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Own endpoint security and device management to maintain a secure, compliant fleet.
  • Administer the company's networking and secure-access infrastructure (VPN/zero-trust networking).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day IT support, and maintain internal documentation and standards.

Infrastructure & Compute

  • Manage Netpreme's colocation server environment, including provisioning, maintenance, monitoring, and uptime.
  • Administer Linux/Unix systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Plan and scale the company's compute capacity as the team and workloads grow - forecasting requirements, adding capacity, and ensuring reliability.
  • Apply a DevOps approach to infrastructure: automate repetitive processes, document systems thoroughly, and build for scale.
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience across both IT operations and infrastructure/systems administration.
  • Proficiency with Linux/Unix systems administration and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience administering SaaS applications, identity and access management, endpoint security, and EDA tools.
  • Ability to work independently and resourcefully as the owner of this function.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to support technical and non-technical colleagues effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as an early IT/infrastructure hire at a startup.
  • Familiarity with colocation or data-center environments and compute capacity planning.
  • Scripting and automation experience (Bash, Python, or similar).
  • Exposure to high-performance computing or GPU/accelerator infrastructure.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary with performance-based bonus and early-stage equity grant
  • 100% employer-paid Health, Dental, and Vision coverage for you and your dependents
  • 401(k) match with immediate vesting, and access to financial advisors to help you reach your financial goals
  • 100% employer-paid Life, Disability, and AD&D insurance, plus a fitness stipend and wellness & mental health perks
  • Generous PTO: 20 vacation days, 15 company holidays (including 3 floating days of your choosing)
  • Daily lunch stipend
  • Enterprise-level Claude & ChatGPT access with a generous token budget
  • Well-equipped, sunny offices in Santa Clara, CA & Cambridge, MA with on-site parking and EV charging; on-site fitness center in Santa Clara; gym discounts near our Cambridge office
  • Visa sponsorship and relocation assistance to one of our office hubs
  • A collaborative, continuous-learning environment with smart, dedicated colleagues building the next generation of high-performance computing architecture
The Opportunity
  • Impact: We are tackling a fundamental challenge at the infrastructure layer: unlocking greater AI capability while dramatically improving efficiency. The work we do here compounds across state-of-the-art AI models, systems, and real-world applications.
  • Timing: Joining now means real ownership of the company and meaningful influence over how we build and scale. You'll work from first principles, move quickly from insight to execution, and see your contributions directly reflected in what we build.
  • Culture: You'll work alongside a group of people who care deeply about rigor, clarity, and impact.
