About Us
Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree-granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. MGA has five campuses-Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins, all located in central Georgia-and global outreach through its fully-online campus. Its enrollment of 8,400 students is largely comprised of students from most of Georgia's 159 counties. The University has six academic schools, including Georgia's flagship aviation program, that support its mission to educate and graduate inspired, lifelong learners whose scholarship and careers enhance the state.
Job Summary
The Student Worker on the Cochran Campus is a part-time position working up to 19 hours per week. This position provides specialized support for students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities include assisting in the daily operations of the Cochran Campus IT department and reports to the System Support Specialist - Helpdesk.
Responsibilities
  • Assists students with login issues with SWORDS, D2L and E-mail via phone or walk-in.
  • Answer phone and assist students/faculty/staff with IT needs such as two-factor authentication resets, setting up Office 365. etc.
  • Submit IT helpdesk tickets for faculty/staff.
  • Setup VCON classrooms making sure cameras are on and positioned correctly and either in send/receive mode.
  • Assists in organizing IT equipment.
  • Assists with lifting and moving IT equipment.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled Middle Georgia State University student with a minimum of 6 credit hours.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office Suite, and Outlook.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with everyone.
  • Flexibility in working hours.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team as needed.
