Job description

McDonald Automotive is hiring an IT Support Specialist In-Person for our main campus in Littleton. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes solving problems in person. You will spend part of your day in our ticket queue and the rest of it moving between our offices, showrooms, and service drives supporting our teams.

We support rooftops across the Front Range with a small in-house IT team. You will not be siloed into one narrow task and this is a great place to learn and grow.

What you will do

  • Provide first-level support for end users in person, by phone, email, and remote tools.
  • Work our ticket queue. Triage what comes in, resolve what you can, document clearly, and escalate what needs a senior tech.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, printers, peripherals, and connectivity issues.
  • Handle account tasks in Microsoft 365 and Active Directory. Password resets, lockouts, moves, adds, and changes.
  • Set up and deploy PCs and iPads. Imaging, configuration, asset tagging, and new hire hardware prep.
  • Keep printers and consumables running across sites, including inventory and proactive replacement.
  • Assist with VPN setup and remote access troubleshooting.
  • Monitor and resolve IT alerts promptly.
  • Travel to nearby stores for hands-on work that cannot be handled remotely.
  • Educate users on applications and best practices, and document fixes so the next technician can review.

What we are looking for

  • Prior hands-on IT support experience is preferred, but we will train the right person. What matters more is that you learn fast, have the attitude, and take initiative.

  • Comfort with hardware and physical work. You should not be put off by computer replacements, running cable, or crawling under a desk.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tickets at once without losing track of any of them.
  • Strong communication and a customer-focused attitude. Many people you help sell cars or fix them, and they need you to explain things at their level.

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with clear documentation habits.
  • Interest in the Microsoft ecosystem (Teams, Power BI, Power Automate, AI and Copilot) and in security, infrastructure, and automation.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation for travel between stores.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice to have

  • CompTIA A+, Network+ or similar certification.

  • Exposure to Intune, RMM tools, mobile device management, or endpoint security.
  • Networking basics. Patching, switch ports, Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
  • Dealership experience or familiarity with automotive tools.

Compensation

$21.00 to $26.00 per hour, depending on experience and certifications.
