IT Development and Support Specialist Job Description

Summary: The IT Development and Support Specialist provides technical support and software development services across Thanksgiving Point. This position is responsible for delivering end-user technical assistance, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining IT systems, and developing technology solutions. Responsibilities include application development, process automation, database management, basic web development, and other programming tasks to support business operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide frontline IT support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems via in-person, phone, and remote assistance.
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings in Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
  • Assist with employee onboarding/offboarding by provisioning and deactivating accounts/devices.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and IT best practices.
  • Work with third-party vendors for software/hardware support when required.
  • Support IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and security improvements.
  • Utilize coding skills (C#, Java, CSS, HTML5) for:
    • App development for Android devices.
    • Supporting website maintenance and troubleshooting web-based issues.
  • Clean, maintain and organize IT assets and areas as needed.
  • Adhere to IT Operations policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required
  • Maintain confidentiality of company and customer data.
  • Exemplify Thanksgiving Point's Mission, Values and Policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and mobile operating systems.
  • Familiarity with IT ticketing systems and remote support tools.
  • Basic to intermediate experience with C#, Java, CSS, HTML5.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical requirements: sit/stand for a long period of time, dexterity of hands and fingers, bending, ability to lift 40 lbs, climbing of stairs and ladders.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
