Anticipated Frequency and Locations for Travel:ย Travel will be required to approximately 25โ€“30 DOL sites across Central and Western New York, with each site potentially requiring up to three visits during the engagement.

  • Additional Security Requirements:ย Mandatory ITS Security Agreements and Fingerprint-based Background Check.
  • Training Requirements:ย Candidate must complete all NYS OER mandated training and sign a confidentiality agreement if exposed to private or sensitive information.
  • Knowledge Transfer:ย The resource may be required to train or mentor state staff in test processes and tools as requested.

Short Description of Position:ย The ITS Specialistโ€“Senior will provide technical assistance and assessment of designated NYS Department of Labor facilities through the NYS ITS Network Site Consultation process. Responsibilities include evaluating circuit bandwidth, performing wireless predictive surveys, determining cabling needs, and implementing required network and wireless upgrades. The role will involve extensive travel to perform on-site assessments and coordinate technical implementation.

Day-to-Day Tasks:ย Provide detailed site survey consultations; travel to sites to perform required surveys; prepare and deliver rough order magnitude estimates; submit internal requests to fulfill site surveys and monitor progress; act as liaison between ITS and DOL; implement, configure, install, troubleshoot, relocate, and remove network equipment as needed.

Position Mandatory Qualification:ย Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in supporting multiple development platforms, architectures, and business applications beyond the scope of a Programmer.
