Job description

Description Working under the direction of the IT Service Desk Supervisor, the Computer Support Specialist is responsible for the working of service desk tickets. Duties 50% 30% 15% 5% ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide computer hardware and software technical support for county employees. Respond to user requests and solve computer and software related problems.

Answer computer and software related questions. Computer asset processing including involvement in the procurement process. Manage hardware vendor relationships for both procurement and warranty support.

Install, configure, and repair computer hardware, including PC's, printers and scanners. Upgrade hardware and software. OTHER FUNCTIONS: Periodic need for business hours/after-hours on-site A/V support.

Other related duties as assigned. All Duties Performed Within +/- 5% Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or Associates in Computer Science with related experience; 1-3 years experience in IT service and support. Supplemental Information KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Ability to troubleshoot and repair computer systems and hardware. Ability to lift, push, pull up to 75lbs.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to diagnose and solve computer related problems. Ability to train on and explain technology to county employees.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a normal office environment where there is no discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust or the like.
