The goal of IT BRM is to ensure that IT services and solutions align with business objectives, deliver value, and foster strong partnerships with stakeholders. BRMs identify business needs, communicate requirements to IT teams, and help prioritize technology initiatives. They also work to improve communication, manage expectations, and resolve conflicts between business and IT. Familiarity with IT service management frameworks like ITIL, relationship management tools, and sometimes certifications such as BRMP (Business Relationship Management Professional) are typical requirements. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills help build trust and align IT initiatives with business goals. These skills ensure effective collaboration, drive business value from IT investments, and foster strong partnerships between IT and business units.
