Job Description IT Business Analyst Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid) In office (Tue,Wed,Thu) Duration: 24 Month Contract Overview: The IT Business Analyst serves as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams. This role is responsible for analyzing business needs, defining requirements, and supporting the delivery of technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and drive strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, experience with enterprise tools, and the ability to translate complex business processes into actionable technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business and system requirements. Analyze current business processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and optimization. Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for IT teams.

Support project lifecycle activities including requirements gathering, design reviews, testing, and implementation. Utilize the ServiceNow Demand Management module to intake, prioritize, and track project requests and enhancements. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and technology solutions.

Develop process flows, use cases, user stories, and business requirement documents (BRDs). Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure solutions meet business requirements. Leverage Microsoft Copilot to enhance productivity, documentation, analysis, and reporting tasks.

Monitor project progress and communicate status, risks, and issues to stakeholders. Ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

3-5+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst or in a similar role. Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Demand Management module. Experience using Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-assisted productivity tools.

Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies and tools. Experience with requirements management, process modeling, and documentation techniques. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the energy or utilities industry. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ServiceNow and Microsoft Copilot or other AI tools is preferred.

Familiarity with Agile and/or Waterfall project methodologies. Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel advanced functions). Certification such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA is a plus
