We are looking for an IT Support Specialist to help support the technology, systems, and tools that keep our staff, members, volunteers, and programs running smoothly. This full-time position assists with technical support, information management, software applications, network connectivity, hardware and software needs, documentation, and technology inventory across the association.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting others, improving processes, and using technology to make a meaningful impact in a mission-driven nonprofit environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent service and technical support to staff, members, volunteers, and guests.
  • Support the Y’s internal network, software applications, desktop hardware, peripherals, and related systems.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, maintenance, training requests, and technology-related questions.
  • Help ensure appropriate security practices for information systems, agency data, and member, participant, and donor information.
  • Support technology inventory, including hardware and software procurement, record keeping, and disposal.
  • Create training documentation, standard operating procedures, and onboarding materials.
  • Identify opportunities to improve technology tools, systems, and processes.
  • Participate in staff meetings, vendor meetings, community meetings, and special events as needed.

Candidates must be able to work in person at our Onalaska and La Crosse locations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in computer science, information management, or a related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting local applications, networks, security practices, and systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Windows 10/11 operating systems preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer peripherals, including monitors, keyboards, wireless devices, printers, and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of VOIP phones, cloud controller management, AV systems, and current IT trends is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work positively with staff, members, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks related to technology setup and support.
