Pay Grade: Tech I B08 ($25.19 - $36.97 per hour, depending on experience)

Tech II B09 ($27.55 - $40.58 per hour, depending on experience)

DESCRIPTION

The IT Technician is responsible for providing technical support to the IT Administrator and staff. Installs, modifies, troubleshoots, and provides technical advice and support to system users.


SUPERVISION

Supervision Received

The IT Technician reports to the IT Administrator.

Supervision Exercised

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.


RESPONSIBILITIES

•Assists IT Administrator in carrying out daily IT tasks and duties relating, but not limited to, systems support, LAN/WAN support, network support, web systems support, website support, server/PC support and helpdesk support.

•Helpdesk support by responding to technical questions of staff. Responds via telephone calls, email, or personnel requests.

•Installs software, configures, and troubleshoots network printers, computers, and other agency devices.

•Maintains equipment inventory.

•Provides reports, status, and completion information to supervisor via mail, email or in person communication.

•Onboard new staff and setup systems for new hires and train on software. Continuing education for current employees on software systems by assessing user skill levels and implementing appropriate training.

•LAN/WAN support as administered and requested by supervisor.

•Assist in keeping network and website documents up to date.

•Provide technical assistance with the use of computers, programs, and Internet/email.

•Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

•Tech I - An associate degree in a technical field with 0-5 years of experience; or a high school diploma with equivalent experience in the field.

•Tech II – A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field with 3-5 years of experience; or equivalent experience in the field.

•Tech III – A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related field with at least 5 years’ experience; or equivalent experience in the field.


CERTIFICATIONS

No certifications are required for this position. Any Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSD, MCSE, etc.) and/or knowledge of Microsoft 365 considered a plus.

Other Skills and Abilities

•Thorough knowledge of computer networks, systems, web systems, and PC maintenance.

•Ability to plan and organize work, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

•Knowledge of specialized applications such as Microsoft Office 365, Go To Resolve, Azure Active Directory as well as other business applications.

•Experience in managing and supporting systems in a networked environment.

•Experience with computer systems and providing customer service in a technological environment.

•Ability to work with many individuals as well as groups of individuals.

PERSONAL AUTO INSURANCE

Must hold a valid driver’s license and carry personal auto insurance for privately owned vehicles utilized for CCS business such as client service purposes, for travel between business offices and the community, and to attend required meetings and/or trainings.

If an employee drives their personal vehicle for CCS business, they must carry $300,000 or more in liability coverage for bodily injury and $100,000 or in liability coverage for property damage. They must submit proof of coverage, and they must maintain said level of coverage for the duration of employment at CCS. The employee’s insurance is primary with CCS insurance being secondary. CCS reserves the right to not allow any employee to drive any vehicle owned by CCS.


BACKGROUND CHECKS

Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 181.536-181.537 and in accordance with OAR 410-007-0200 through 410-007-0380.

In addition to the pre-employment background check, each employee shall be checked on a monthly basis against the OIG and GSA exclusion lists, as well as other federal and state agency lists. If it is discovered that an employee is excluded or sanctioned it will be the cause for immediate termination of employment.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use office automation including computer and phone systems that require find manipulation, grasping, typing, and reaching.

The employee is also regularly required to sit, talk, and listen; use hands and fingers and handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel and/or squat when adjusting equipment or retrieving supplies.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in an office environment and the noise level is usually moderate, but occasionally may be exposed to loud noise such as raised voice levels and alarms. Occasional out of area travel and overnight stays may be required.

This position may be exposed to the everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as an office (i.e. moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, electrical shock, etc.).
