Job description

MTSI is seeking a IT Asset Manager who oversees governance, lifecycle management, and accountability of all hardware and software assets supporting classified and unclassified information systems under the DoD Joint Special Access Program (JSAP) umbrella. This role ensures that IT resources are procured, deployed, maintained, secured, and disposed of in accordance with organizational policy, the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG), NIST SP 800-53 control families (CM-8, SA-22, PE-20), and DoD/AF cybersecurity regulations.
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
  • Serves as the primary liaison between the Information System Owner (ISO), Information System Security Manager (ISSM), and Program Security Officer (PSO) for asset accountability and configuration documentation within the RMF process.
  • Serves as the focal point for hardware and software asset inventories, licensing compliance, vendor management, and configuration documentation, ensuring alignment between IT operations, finance, and cybersecurity.
  • Develops and enforces an IT Asset Lifecycle Policy that complies with DoD, Air Force, and JSIG guidance for SAP information systems.
  • Maintain complete asset records to support RMF authorization packages (SSP, SAR, POA&M) and system baseline configurations under CM-2 and CM-8.
  • Ensure hardware and software inventories are integrated into the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and correlated with system authorization boundaries.
  • Participate in security audits and provide detailed asset inventories and disposal records to demonstrate compliance with CM-8, SA-22, and MP-6 (Media Sanitization).
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all end-user devices, servers, network components, peripherals, and industrial control equipment under SAP scope.
  • Document and validate configuration baselines
  • Coordinate with Information System Owner, Facilities, and Logistics to forecast hardware requirements and track vendor warranties.
  • Maintain a centralized software inventory and ensure license and version compliance across authorized systems.
  • Track and optimize license models for enterprise software (Microsoft, Adobe, Atlassian, Red Hat, VMware, etc.).
  • Manage software contracts, renewals, and vendor engagements in coordination with Procurement and Legal.
  • Partner with IT operations, cybersecurity, finance, and logistics to align asset management with budget and risk objectives.
  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to identify and remediate unauthorized hardware or software ("shadow IT").

Required:
  • 15+ years in IT asset, configuration, or inventory management.
  • Familiarity with RMF, JSIG, and DoD SAP authorization processes.
  • Proven experience with ITSM/CMDB platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, GLPI, Snipe-IT).
  • Familiarity with hardware lifecycle processes and enterprise licensing models.
  • At least 2 years of SAP experience (desired)

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field
