What you'll be doing


You will join the Enterprise Technology team, supporting the Enterprise Anti-Money Laundering (EAML) Technology group, where you will lead the design of data and application solutions that drive CIBC's financial crime detection, regulatory reporting, sanctions screening, and AML investigation capabilities. Your work will encompass guiding the functional and technical design of systems across the EAML ecosystem, ensuring alignment with regulatory obligations, business objectives, and CIBC's enterprise architecture standards. You will provide technical leadership, define processing logic across multiple platforms, and offer senior-level guidance to IT management and technical teams, supporting complex decision-making and driving innovation in technology selection. Your responsibilities include translating requirements into robust, auditable solutions, overseeing development lifecycles, and evaluating emerging technologies to enhance detection accuracy, scalability, and operational efficiency.

How you'll Succeed

  • Strategic Design & Execution - Coordinate and perform complex solution design activities across the EAML data and application platform, translating business and regulatory requirements into system and application designs aligned with our technology roadmap.

  • Regulatory & Data Integrity Leadership - Lead the creation of audit-ready solutions that meet business objectives and rigorous data integrity, lineage, and traceability standards, championing control and quality across every artifact.

  • Stakeholder Management - Act as the solution lead by interfacing with project teams, compliance partners, and oversight functions, ensuring alignment with business requirements and mentoring junior designers and developers through collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Who you are

  • You demonstrate experience. You have 8-10 years of experience in database technology such as Oracle and SQL. Strong knowledge ETL Data tools (Informatica and Apache Spark). Knowledge in Databricks is necessary as well. Strong knowledge in Microsoft Azure is necessary for this role as well.
