Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Facilities Management Specialist 3 - IT Infrastructure and Construction Support will lead the coordination, planning, and oversight of technology-related infrastructure projects supporting the Department of Medicine across multiple buildings and sites. The incumbent will serve as the primary liaison with CTS, ISS, DGIT, Facilities Management, contractors, and external vendors regarding IT infrastructure, telecommunications, AV systems, safety, access, remodeling, and construction activities. Responsibilities include managing projects involving IT room buildouts, telecom and network infrastructure, port activations, structured cabling, wireless connectivity, phone deployments, and audiovisual installations in support of departmental operations and research activities. The position requires strong knowledge of campus IT standards, low-voltage infrastructure, telecommunications systems, and construction coordination processes to ensure projects are completed efficiently and in compliance with campus requirements. The incumbent will independently manage multiple concurrent projects, coordinate project timelines and stakeholders, and assist department leadership with budget development and infrastructure planning related to moves, renovations, and operational upgrades. This role also provides recommendations regarding technology and facilities-related solutions while considering budgets, staffing needs, space utilization, and infrastructure design. Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential to support the Department's growing operational and technology infrastructure needs.
Annual salary range: $84,760.76 - $129,150.70. The department's target salary range is $84,760.76 - $108,022.26.

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Thorough knowledge in the areas of building space planning, codes, capacity, security, fire safety, organization and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Thorough interpersonal skills including good service orientation and effective problem solving.
  • Knowledge of architectural or engineering concepts.
  • Thorough and effective skills to multi-task and prioritize daily activities effectively.
