Job description

Fiber Network Services is a communications contractor offering a full range of fiber optic and cable network services. Servicing Cox Communications, Comcast Cable, Segra and Suddenlink in the States of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and in Washington D.C., we are a trusted resource for cabling and maintaining high-speed internet connectivity via fiber optic and coaxial systems.

FNS is looking to hire an experienced Low Voltage/ ISP Wiring Technician to work with our Salem/Roanoke VA. team. You will assist and be responsible for ISP Fiber and/or Coax drops to commercial locations. You do not need to hold a Low Voltage certification.

Job Responsibilities (but not limited to:

  • Responsible for cabling ISP Coax and/or Fiber for Hybrid/Fiber Coax commercial installs.
  • Install conduit and cabinets
  • Fill concrete pads
  • Responsible for timely updates to FNS Management teams and Client.
  • Need to be able to communicate effectively and be able to track project lifecycle via Excel, Database or other digital platforms.
  • Need to ensure all construction projects have a clear and accurate scope.
  • Need to ensure and maintain accurate timelines for project.
  • Ability to analyze tasks associated with a project to ensure all Labor and Materials are in place prior to kickoff.
  • Ability to recognize and enforce safe working environments for inside-plant construction projects.
  • Ability to document and provide final As-built and billing information

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of ISP low voltage wiring
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others and work within a team environment
  • Ability to be at work every day at 7am
  • Possession of a valid Driver's license
  • Ability to pass a drug screening
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to read and understand technical instruction
  • Years of Experience: 3-5 preferred
  • Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Able to lift up to 25lbs
