Description

Position Purpose:

Management of the Quality, Safety,  Environmental, and Occupational Health Management System, responsible for, but not limited to, ensuring implementation and continuous improvement of safety, quality, environmental, and occupational health systems for the business unit. Develop and promote a culture of safety, quality, sustainability, and compliance while ensuring adherence to applicable OSHA regulations, international standards including ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, VDA 6.8, customer-specific requirements, and standards established by Schnellecke Logistics.


Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of programs and processes to effectively comply with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements established by government regulations, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, VDA 6.8, Schnellecke Logistics, and customer-specific standards.
  • Manage the Integrated Management System (IMS) at the business unit level, ensuring business processes remain compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, VDA 6.8, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Lead the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO 45001), ensuring effective implementation, compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement of environmental and occupational health protocols.
  • Manage the audit process at the business unit level to assess process effectiveness, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor processes and service deliverables through analysis and statistical tools to provide operational teams with information needed to detect and prevent nonconforming products, service issues, and quality concerns. Manage blocking and release of material as required.
  • Perform risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and manage health, safety, environmental, and quality-related risks.
  • Implement and manage incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action processes to determine root and latent causes of failures and establish immediate and sustainable corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Responsible for administration and control of documents, ensuring documents are reviewed at defined intervals and only current approved versions are available to all departments at points of use.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate effective training programs related to health, safety, environmental, quality, and management system requirements.
  • Administer and evaluate client chargeback claims by investigating issues and providing sufficient evidence to successfully appeal invalid claims.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate performance, identify improvement opportunities, and address out-of-target results utilizing PDCA methodology.
  • Analyze safety performance data to identify trends, monitor leading and lagging indicators, and develop initiatives to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Manage environmental programs focused on reducing emissions, improving sustainability practices, and ensuring responsible disposal and recycling of materials.

Requirements

Education:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental) field.


Experience:
Minimum of 3+ years of related QSHE experience within automotive, manufacturing, or 3PL logistics environments.


Auditor Competence:
Lead auditor qualification in at least one relevant standard, such as VDA 6.8/VDA 6.3, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, or ISO 14001.


Management System Knowledge:
Proven experience managing multi-standard Integrated Management System (IMS) frameworks, including quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety requirements.


Problem Solving & Analytics:
Strong ability to analyze key management issues, audit findings, operational data, and performance trends to drive continuous improvement.


Leadership:
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to foster a culture of quality, sustainability, and safety throughout the logistics organization.


Language Skills:
Fluent in English.


Environmental & Occupational Health:
Lead the environmental management system (ISO 14001) and occupational health and safety protocols (ISO 45001), ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.


Physical Demands/Work Environment

This position operates in both warehouse and office environments. The employee may be exposed to occasionally loud noise levels and is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Bending and reaching may be required.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times while on the shop floor to prevent injury to oneself or others.

Occasional travel may be required (up to 25%).
