Job description

Role and Responsibilities:
Full Time position supporting the TESS Task Order filling the Test Engineer position with some travel.
Duties include:
system engineering, system test operation, test analysis, and technical doc support. The position is located at Wallops Island, VA
Position Duties:
• Either Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree and minimum of 1 years' experience or no degree with a minimum of 5 years technical experience supporting Navy systems experience.• Must be capable of using SSDS MK2 systems including operating, maintaining, and repairing complex electronic systems for threat detection, engagement, and situational awareness.
• Support all aspects of SSDS MK2 combat system and its peripheral system interfaces installed aboard USN platforms.
• Define and develop rigorous test standards for the T&E USN shipboard, land-based, and enterprise Integrated Combat System (ICS) products, software, and equipment.
• Review, test, validate, and verify element-level System Requirements Specification (SRS), System Subsystem Specification(SSS) and evaluate test results, and test trends and implement corrective action as needed.
• Review, create, develop, maintain, and execute test procedures for the conduct of Land Based Engineering Test (LBET),Combat System Integration Test (CSIT), Shipboard Developmental Test (SBDT), and Enterprise Test events
• Test and evaluate new software releases during product development
• Provide technical expertise on specific products, operating systems, and specialized environments
• Establish and maintain test processes and requirements documents• Report and document test results and enter problems and issues into the Trouble Observation Report (TOR) database
• Configure necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing
• Collaborate with product management and technical writers to ensure system and user manuals are in synch with the software to ensure that quality is "built in" from the ground up
• Interface with customers, vendors, and various company departments to resolve problems that cause test failures
• Assist junior engineers in the development of test procedures and actual test conduct
• Generate reports and review documents generated by junior engineers
• Review and study information from suppliers regarding materials and components to be utilized
• May work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers
• Must have a valid driver's license with own transportation and able to travel.
• Must be able to satisfactorily complete background check and get a government clearance.
• Must be able to follow company policies and procedures.
• Must be able to write, speak and understand English and able to write clear, detailed technical monthly reports.
Preferred Skills:
• Navy OS or FC A/C SchoolsMandatory
Physical Requirements:
• Must be capable of working aboard US Navy ships pier side and at-sea.
