Are you a compassionate, detail-driven physician who wants your work to directly support U.S. military communities — while enjoying island living? If so, this opportunity might be a perfect fit.

French Consulting is seeking a Family Practice Physician to provide full-time family medicine services to eligible beneficiaries at Naval Health Clinic Hawaii (NHCH) and its associated Branch Health Clinics. This position supports a U.S. Navy Military Treatment Facility contract, managing a scheduled patient panel of approximately 20 patients per day in 20-minute appointment blocks (new providers ramp up gradually over about 6 weeks).

What You'll Do

Clinical Care

  • Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.

  • Examine, diagnose, treat, and prescribe courses of treatment within scope of training, experience, and privileges.

  • Order diagnostic tests and initiate consultations/referrals with appropriate specialists as indicated.

Preventive Care & Readiness

  • Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, health behavior counseling, and self-care education.

  • Maintain familiarity with the Department of Defense TRICARE Program.

  • Carry a pager/beeper during work hours and respond to clinic codes as required.

Documentation & Team Collaboration

  • Complete charting and administrative tasks (lab review, referral coordination) within the standard workday, with encounters closed within 72 hours.

  • Clinically direct and provide instruction/in-service training to other health care professionals.

  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and an active National Provider Identifier (NPI).

Who You Are

  • A patient-focused physician who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.

  • Comfortable working within military protocols and MTF standards.

  • A strong communicator and collaborator who works well with multidisciplinary care teams.

  • Efficient at balancing direct patient care with documentation and administrative responsibilities.

  • You may be a military spouse, veteran, or simply someone who values service and purpose.

Qualifications

Education

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from a school accredited by the LCME, AOA Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation, or an ACGME-recognized accrediting body.

  • Foreign-trained physicians must demonstrate equivalency via permanent ECFMG certification, a Fifth Pathway certificate, or successful completion of the USMLE.

Training & Experience

  • Successful completion of an ACGME- or AOA-approved internship and residency program in Family Medicine, plus a minimum of 1 year of supervised clinical experience immediately following the M.D./D.O. degree.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a family practice setting within the preceding 4 years, OR completion of a Family Practice residency within the preceding 2 years.

Board Certification & Licensure

  • Board Certification in Family Practice.

  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States.

Certifications & Registration

  • Current BLS certification.

  • Valid, current DEA registration prior to performing contract services.

References

  • Two letters of recommendation, written within the preceding 2 years, from practicing providers, supervisors, or program administrators.
