Job description

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for ICU Coverage in Youngstown, Ohio Acute Care NP/PAs Needed for ICU Coverage Mercy Health Physicians-Youngstown is adding NP/PAs to expand ICU coverage. This is shift based and providing in-house coverage. The providers will provide critical care coverage and rounding on ICU patients.

The team will expand our coverage area of our intensive care units in the hospital working in collaboration with the critical care intensivists. The units will be shared between the NP/PA and the physician. The NP/PA will function as independent healthcare providers who, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with acute or chronic medical conditions.

The NP/PA will be responsible for: Assessment Diagnosis Treatment Management Education Health education Care coordination in a hospital-based setting The NP/PA will demonstrate an advanced level of medical clinical knowledge and will communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other support staff. Candidates must have acute care certification. The NP/PA will need to: Initiate vents Place central lines Be ACLS and BLS certified Be comfortable running codes The NP/PA should also have strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to strengthen the ICU coverage and care for those ICU patients.

There will be peer mentorship and collaboration with critical care intensivists. We are open to new graduates and will train them. Excellent compensation package.
